Interior Architect/ Technical Assitant
Description

Responsible for blending creative design skills with technical proficiency to support architectural projects while also providing administrative assistance to the design team. Drafts technical drawings, coordinates project management tasks, communicates with clients and contractors, sources materials, and manages schedules and budgets. Provides administrative support to the managing director in managing the company’s operations.

Responsibilities

Technical

  • Drafts technical drawings and creates detailed plans and blueprints using architectural software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Communicates with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and project requirements.
  •  Coordinates with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to procure materials, furniture, and equipment for projects.
  • Conducts site visits to assess project feasibility, gather measurements, and ensure design concepts are implemented accurately.
  • Researches and stays updated on industry trends, building codes, regulations, and sustainable design practices.
  • Assists with interior design concepts, including space planning, colour schemes, lighting design, and furniture selection.
  • Collaborates with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure seamless integration of interior design elements with overall building structure and systems.
  • Manages project budgets, tracks expenses, and prepares cost estimates for materials and labour.
  • Assists with project management tasks, including scheduling meetings, coordinating deadlines, and tracking project progress.

Operations

  • Provides administrative support to the managing director, such as organizing files, maintaining project documentation, and responding to emails and phone calls.
  • Manages the calendar, schedules appointments, and coordinates meetings, ensuring optimal time management and prioritization of tasks.
  • Keeps the managing director updated on important events, appointments, and meetings by providing relevant information with timely reminders.
  • Handles email correspondence, drafts communications, and prepares reports, presentations, and other documents as needed.
  • Organises travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation, while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to travel policies.
  • Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries, relaying messages, and facilitating communication channels.
  • Fosters positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, vendors, and partners through professional and courteous interactions.
  • Acts as a liaison between the managing director and various departments, ensuring alignment of priorities, expectations, and deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from a reputable
    and accredited university.
Knowledge Requirements
  • Good understanding of the use of scheduling applications.
  • Good understanding of client management.
Technical Requirements
  • Proficient in the use of software such as AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and SketchUp.
  • Knowledge of 3D illustration skills in interior designs, and interior architecture schemes.
  • Strong technical CAD skills with an understanding of architectural conventions including floor plans, elevations, sections, and electrical plans.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
Experience
  • At least 3 years post-NYSC experience in design.
