JOB SUMMARY
Leads and oversees the origination, structuring, execution, and completion of investment banking transactions in line with client objectives and regulatory requirements. Provides strategic and technical leadership to the Investment Banking function, ensures high-quality transaction delivery, regulatory compliance, and strong stakeholder management.
Drives business growth by sourcing mandates, managing investor and client relationships, supervising transaction teams, and ensuring best-in-class execution across capital markets and advisory transactions.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Investment Banking & Transaction Execution

Drives the execution of investment banking transactions from origination through structuring and completion, ensuring alignment with client objectives and timelines.

Conducts and oversees in-depth research, financial analysis, valuation, and documentation of live transactions.

Leads and supervises comprehensive due diligence processes covering financial, operational, regulatory, and market considerations.

Prepares, reviews, and approves transaction documentation including proposals, pitch books, prospectus, information memoranda, and long-form transaction documents.

Develops and reviews complex financial models and conducts company valuations using methods such as DCF, LBO, comparable companies, and precedent transactions.

Leads investor outreach activities and manage investor due diligence requirements.

Negotiates commercial agreements with transaction counterparties and stakeholders.

Prepares presentation materials and represents the firm at client meetings and transaction-related engagements.
Regulatory & Compliance Management

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of capital market regulations, including SEC Rules, Investments and Securities Act (ISA), FMDQ Market Rules, and NGX Rulebook.

Oversees engagement with regulatory authorities (SEC, FMDQ, NGX) to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant filings and approvals.

Ensures all transactions adhere strictly to applicable regulatory and governance standards.
Leadership & Team Management

Provides technical leadership and supervision to Analysts and Associates, offering guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback.

Builds, manages, and develops a high-performing investment banking team.

Leads internal initiatives and ad hoc projects focused on process optimization, operational efficiency, and strategic innovation.
Business Development & Stakeholder Management

Sources investment banking mandates and drives business development initiatives.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, investors, regulators, and key industry stakeholders.

Monitors industry trends, market developments, and competitive dynamics to identify new opportunities.

Collaborates closely with senior executives, legal advisors, consultants, and external partners to ensure seamless transaction execution.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Finance, Economics, or related field from a reputable institution.

A Master’s degree and/or relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.

Advanced knowledge of capital markets, regulatory frameworks, and transaction structuring.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
