Head, Financial Reporting 
Description

Oversees Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, Financial Control & Operations, and Regulatory Compliance. Leads the implementation of strategies and policies to achieve corporate goals, ensuring non-IT business continuity and operational efficiency. Prepares and distributes accurate financial statements and reports promptly.

Responsibilities
  • Leads the financial and regulatory reporting function and ensures completeness and accuracy of the general ledger, by adopting continuous and regular substantiation of the financial records (GL systems) and provides timely and relevant financial information to internal and other relevant external stakeholders and regulators.
  • Coordinates all audits: internal, regulatory, and other statutory examinations.
  •  Manages the relevant external relationships, such as audits, revenue authorities, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Manages the relationships with the CBN, NDIC, SEC, etc., and ensures continuous compliance with all regulatory returns’ renditions.
  • Works closely with the performance management team in the processes leading to the derivation of annual forecasts and with the revenue-generating and support departments.
  • Maintains knowledge and keeps abreast of changes to policies, practices, and relevant legislations/guidelines by regulators and governments that may assist in better-evaluating impacts on sectoral performances.
  • Sets appropriate targets for the immediate team, monitors performance, and support the team members in maximizing their potential.
  • Manages and develops direct reports and ensures a motivated and effective team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other related courses from a reputable and accredited university.
  • Master of Business Administration will be an added advantage
  • Professional certification in one of the following- ICAN, ACCA, or its equivalent is an added advantage.
Knowledge Requirements
  • Knowledge of state and federal tax laws and business regulations.
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting, management accounting, and corporate finance.
  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Technology savvy.
Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience in financial and regulatory reporting in the banking industry in a recognized deposit money bank.
