Responsibilities
Market Research
- Identifies new business opportunities by researching and identifying potential clients, partnerships, and markets for expansion.
- Monitors market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the industry.
- Develops and manages a pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
Client Relationship Management
- Manages client relationships by building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Acts as primary point of contact to ensure client satisfaction and address any issues or concerns.
Proposal Development
- Leads the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and tenders.
- Ensures detailed understanding of client’s need is captured and well-articulated in the proposal or bid.
- Collaborates with the estimating and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
Strategy
- Develops and implements business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
- Achieves sales targets by negotiating and closing deals with clients.
- Identifies upselling opportunities within existing contracts and projects.
- Represents the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Develops a network of contacts within the industry to increase visibility and generate leads.
- Prepares regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends and provides insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline in engineering.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Knowledge Requirements
- Strong understanding of the contracting and construction industry.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- 5 – 10 work experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the contracting or construction industry.
- Exploration and Production (E&P) experience.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
