Civil Engineer (Infrastructural)
Description

Responsible for the planning, design review, execution, and supervision of civil and structural works within the company’s EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation & Commissioning) projects. Ensures that all civil engineering activities including foundations, structural works, earthworks, drainage systems, and infrastructure development are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable engineering standards, contract requirements, and quality specifications.

Responsibilities

Civil Works Planning & Execution

  • Supports the planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering works across EPCIC projects.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents for site implementation.
  • Supervises site activities including excavation, foundation works, concrete works, structural steel installations, and finishing works.
  • Ensures work is executed in line with approved designs, project schedules, and method statements.
  • Monitors site progress and provides daily/weekly reports to project managers.

 

Design Review & Technical Support

  • Reviews civil and structural drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Provides technical input during design development and engineering coordination meetings.
  • Identifies and resolves design discrepancies in collaboration with consultants and engineering teams.
  • Supports value engineering initiatives to improve cost efficiency and constructability.

 

Site Supervision & Quality Control

  • Supervises contractors, subcontractors, and site workers to ensure quality execution of civil works.
  • Conducts site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings and standards. Implement and monitor quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures.
  • Ensures proper material testing and verification (e.g., concrete, reinforcement, soil tests).

 

Project Coordination & Interface Management

  • Coordinates civil works with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure smooth project integration.
  • Participates in project meetings, site coordination meetings, and progress reviews.
  • Ensures alignment between procurement, construction schedules, and site requirements.
  • Supports interface management between multiple contractors and disciplines.

 

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Enforces strict adherence to HSE policies and site safety standards.
  • Conducts toolbox talks and participates in site safety meetings.
  • Identifies and reports unsafe conditions or practices on site.
  • Ensures all civil works are executed in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

 

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepares site reports, progress updates, and engineering documentation.
  • Maintains records of inspections, test results, and project correspondence.
  • Assists in preparation of as-built drawings and project close-out documentation.
  • Tracks project milestones and support schedule monitoring.

 

Business Development

  • Contributes technical expertise to the preparation of bids and tender documents, ensuring competitive and compelling submissions.
  • Identifies new business opportunities, including partnerships and client engagements. Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to secure repeat business and referrals.
  • Collaborates with engineering teams to align technical proposals with client expectations. Analyzes market trends and develops strategies to position the company as a leader in the construction industry.
  • Performs other tasks assigned.
Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
  • COREN registration or working towards certification is an added advantage.
Knowledge Requirements
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods and engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of structural design and construction standards.
  • Familiarity with construction sequencing and project lifecycle delivery.
  • Understanding of QA/QC systems and construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations in construction environments.

  • 10–12 years of relevant experience in civil engineering within construction or EPC/EPCIC environments.
  • Strong site-based experience in infrastructure, industrial, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams is required.
